Why don’t I do discounts?

At certain times of the year, like summer, Black Friday, or in January, when online ads and department stores are flooded with discounts and offers, many people ask me if I do a sale on my jewellery.

The answer is no, I don’t do sales.

It’s a decision I made a long time ago, both with my head and my heart, because I don’t want to encourage the compulsive, and mindless consumption boosted at these times of the year.

This model of immediate consumption has nothing to do with the essence of Iolite Joyas, or with my values. Actually, to do sales would mean being inconsistent with myself.

I don’t do sales because I offer fair prices all year round

In my workshop, I create each and every piece of jewellery from my soul, from my heart, to reach the person who will connect with it, feeling that it expresses something personal about her.

My work is entirely handmade and sustainable. My workshop is in Spain, nestled next to the mountains. From the first sketch to the last detail, I create each piece with my hands, using mainly recycled silver and natural stones and working them over a slow heat.

I put as much care and attention as possible into each piece; I believe this makes them special and unique. My hope is that when someone sees the jewellery, that person feels that it expresses her truth, and that she wants to wear it and make it her own.

Indeed, I could not produce my jewellery in other countries in an effort to reduce costs and have higher profits, even if this would allow me to offer discounts. This would not be in line with my principles, nor with the craftsmanship that is part of me and that I so strongly advocate.

In turn, far from considering my handmade production process as something exclusive, I feel that it is a fair job that should be fairly priced all year round, regardless of the occasion or time of year.

In short, my prices are not “inflated” during certain months only to be discounted during seasonal sales periods, but are the same fair prices all year round.

I don’t do sales because I don’t follow trends

Every piece of my jewellery carries a little bit of freedom inside and the inspiration to express your inner world.

This is something that never fades away or goes out of fashion.

My jewellery is for life; it is long-lasting and timeless. They are contemporary jewellery, made the same today as they were made in the old days.

These pieces are designed to last for years and decades, without yielding to any passing trend.

I want to contribute to a world of free people, able to express themselves without fear of judgement from others, conveying who they really are, regardless of what is in fashion.

That’s why I create very diverse jewellery, so that I can offer as many designs as there are different personalities. Everyone can find their own jewellery and wear it for as long as they want.

I don’t do sales because I believe in a different way of consuming

In my opinion, each one of us can make a new kind of consumption possible by not accumulating superficial things that we don’t really need.

I believe in a more human type of consumption, where we choose with our hearts and heads those pieces that bring meaning to our lives, because they echo who we are and the way we express ourselves.
